The Updated Information of Yichang Port, Cruise Optional Activities and New Cruise Line
For relieve traffic congestion of Three Gorges Dam Lock, Yangtze Cruise ships will no longer passing through the 5-step lock (except Yangtze 1）. Embarkation and disembarkation of the Yangtze cruise in Yichang will happen at the upstream side of the dam, at the Maoping pier. Cruise companies will provide free transfers between Yichang and Maoping in both directions for embarking and disembarking passengers.
Here are special notes for Yichang transfers and luggage collection:
Downstream Chongqing to Yichang on Day 4:
Only Three Gorges Dam: Passengers prepare to check out and disembark in Maoping Port before 8:00am, take a bus to visit famous Three Gorges Dam Site at 08:00am-10:30am, then bus transfer to Yichang Sanxia Tourist Center (No.9 dock, face to Wal-Mart). Bus fee included.
Arriving time: 12:30pm
Three Gorges Dam+ Ship lift (optional CNY218 per person): Passengers prepare to check out and disembark in Maoping Port before 8:00am, luggage collection, board a sightseeing ship for experience the special-designed ship lock lift (transited in 40 min), while the other locks at the dam are utilized primarily for cargo ships and take 3 to 5 hours to traverse. A visit to the Three Gorges Dam will follow at 9:30am, bus transfer to Yichang Sanxia Tourist Center after tour

Upstream from Yichang to Chongqing on Day 1:
Board the ship at Yichang Maoping Port, 64km away from Yichang down town, passengers need to take a shuttle bus to get there. free shuttle bus to Maoping cruise terminal departure at two places: Yichang East Railway Station and Sanxia Tourist Center (三峡游客中心, No.9 dock, face to Wal-Mart) from 16:00pm to 21:00pm. 1 1/2 hours driving to Maoping port. Bus fee included.

Upstream: where and how to find out the shuttle bus to Maoping from Yichang
Departure piont 1. Sanxia Tourist Center三峡游客中心: show your passport in the information center and get the free bus ticket, hop on the yellow shuttle bus which painted ( 宜昌交运 Yichang Jiaoyun) to Maoping pier with your language.

Departure piont 2. Yichang East Railway Station宜昌东站: find out the Luxury Cruise Shuttle Boarding Point （豪华游轮转运乘车处）once you arrive, just at right side on railway station exit gate (20 meters away from the exit, do not need to go downstairs to the first floor) , hop on the yellow shuttle bus which painted 宜昌交运to Maoping pier. The stuff will check your passport once you get on the bus for recording.

From airport: passengers who arrive by air can take an airport bus and get off at Sanxia Tourist Cener in downtown of Yichang(三峡游客中心) which takes 40 minutes, or reserve hassle free airport pick up service with us, then onward shuttle to Maoping.
How to take the free shuttle bus to Maoping
Luggage Transfer: you can bring it by your own to the bus (free), or leave it to the information center where you get ticket, the porters will deliver to your ship. Luggage deliver fee: CNY15 per piece if collect from Sanxia Tourist Center, CNY20 per piece if collect from Yichang Railway Station.

Ship Lock Lift at Three Gorges Dam
Under construction since 2008 and completed last November, the ship lock lift is the final component in the Three Gorges Dam complex. It is the largest of its kind in the world, capable of lifting ships of up to 3,000 tons. It is nearly the height of a 40-story building, with a water volume equivalent to 4 Olympic swimming pools. The vertical distance traveled is 113 meters (370 feet).
The other locks at the dam are utilized primarily for cargo ships and take 3 to 5 hours to traverse, while the new ship lock lift, designed for passenger ships (with safety features for passenger ships, including a fire escape), can be transited in 40 minutes to an hour.

The show tells the story of Three Kingdom in China, As important for Chinese culture as the Homeric epics have been for the West, it has influenced the ways that Chinese think about power, diplomacy, and war.
