Chongqing Arrival

The first day is reserved for getting to the Chongqing and settling in to your hotel. The rest of the time is free.

Chongqing
Attractions:Dazu Grottoes (Baodingshan), Ciqikou Old Town
Dazu Rock Carvings
The tour starts with a visit to the Dazu Grottoes. This attraction is some 83 kilometres far from the city core and it is famous for numerous stone statues that were carved in the surrounding mountains over a very long period of time. There are over 50 thousand of these statues and they were carved from the period of the Tang Dynasty until the period of the Qing Dynasty. After that, the tour goes to the Ciqikou Old Town. This is partially restored old area of the city that looks quite authentic and old. The narrow streets and wooden houses are the same as they were centuries ago. This place is quite lively and you can enjoy various snacks or shop for the souvenirs there. Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Chongqing Departure
Attractions:Three Gorges Museum, Goose Neck Park, Panda Room in Chongqing Zoo, Hotel to airport Transfer (Chongqing)
Chongqing Zoo
The day begins with a two hour long visit to the Three Gorges Museum. Naturally, this museum is dedicated to the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges Dam, but there are some really interesting items to be seen there that cover the most of the Chinese history with the accent on the period of the war. After this museum the tour goes to the Goose Neck Park. This is a rather big and a very peaceful place where many local citizens come to relax. Some magnificent buildings which were used as embassies are in the vicinity and there is also a very long painting of the Yangtze River in this park. The last stop of the tour is the Chongqing Zoo where you will be able to see some really rare and really beautiful animals such as golden monkeys or Asian tigers. Still, the main highlight of this zoo is the Panda Room where you can see both young and adult Giant and Red Panda bears. After the visit, there is a lunch waiting for you in the local Restaurant that is located within the zoo. Meals: Breakfast and a Chinese Lunch at local Restaurant
