Day1

Chengdu Arrival

Attractions:Airport to Hotel Transfer (Chengdu)

This day is reserved for getting in to the city of Chengdu and settling in.

Chengdu

Attractions:Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Wangjiang Park, Wu Hou Temple, Jinli Old Street

The tour begins with a visit to Du Fu Thatched Cottage. Du Fu was the greatest poet of China and he lived from 712 to 770. This place is a memorial to him and it is surrounded with a beautiful and peaceful garden. The next stop is the Wangjiang Park. This park was a home of Xue Tao, a famous poet that lived from 768 to 831 AD. Although he wasn’t originally from Chengdu, he spent most of his life here. After this, the tour goes to the Wu Hou Temple. This temple is dedicated to the Marquis of Wu. This man was one of the greatest military thinkers of the old China and his name was immortalized in the famous Poem of Three Kingdoms. This place has several halls surrounded by colourful parks and the tomb of the Liu Bei, the emperor of that time is also situated there. The final stop of the day is Jinli Old Street. This was once the main merchant street of the city and it was fully restored few years ago. Now, you can enjoy both the ancient architecture and the local delicacies there. The daily itinerary ends with a visit to Long Chao Shou snack bar. This is a rather unique place where some really extravagant snacks can be ordered. Bifengxia Giant Panda Base

Bifeng Valley Panda Centre is a new home to some 20 Giant Panda bears since the earthquake of 2008. This place allows you to see these rare and beautiful animals in their natural surrounding and it will be very rewarding tour by all means. Also, the place is very peaceful and very beautiful so your stay there will prove to be quite relaxing and enjoyable. On top of it all, for an extra fee you can participate in the Panda Volunteer Program and that will allow you to help feed ad bathe these magnificent beasts. Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

What is a private tour?

What is the best time to take this tour?

This tour is suitable for travel all year round, May, September and October are the peak tourist months at China's most popular destinations when the weather is comparatively comfortable, but prices are higher, and everywhere is more crowded. Prices drop a bit in the shoulder season, which runs from late March through April and from June through August.
